Sonny Miles Passes Away - He will be missed |
Sonny Miles passed away on Saturday. It was his wish that all donations go to the Fallen Marine Memorial Fun.

 | The Fallen Marine Memorial Run inc. was formed in early 2006 as a result of a picture published in our local newspaper in which a young Tyler Regi Miles, son of Sgt. Sean H. Miles was dressed in Marine Corps Dress Blues and the caption said, "Daddy", as the family says goodbye to their fallen hero. The widow, Genevive Miles sits in the background mourning the loss of her husband, as are Sean’s parents, Mike and Deb miles. Jerry Vanasdale, co founder of the Fallen Marine Memorial Run has dedicated himself to keeping the memory of Sean in our minds and hearts forever and recently had a motorcycle designed to honor Sean’s memory. |
The motorcycle made it’s debut on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the Cycle Production USA show held in the Monroeville Expo Mart and as a fitting tribute to the love and dedication to the family of Sean H Miles, the bike won first place in it’s class and won the coveted first place overall trophy awarded by the judges of the show. The response to this "one of a kind" original work of art was phoenominal and the competition was filled with a field of some of the country’s premier bike builders. Our wish is to continue to show the Marine Motorcycle throughout the country to promote this year’s Fallen Marine Memorial Run which is to be held in conjunction with the Gatto Cycle "Hogs Gone Wild Block Party’ on July 14 and 15 of 2007 in Tarentum Pennsylvania. YOUR PARTICIPATION AND GENEROUS DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. |

My friend Lloyd Smith from San Francisco, Jerry Vanasdale, my partner in the Fallen Marine Memorial Run and I attended the dedication Ceremony for the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico on Friday, Nov. 10, the 231st birthday of the Marine Corps. It was neat being a part of the making of history as this is the first Marine dedication since the Flag raising monument in Wash. DC which was dedicated in 1954. |
